So why is it so hard to get myself there? I know I will love it once we get rolling. I know I will feel great when it's done. And yet I have the same the conversation with myself each week. It goes something like this.
- "Get dressed. Get in the car. Go. You'll be psyched you did."
- "Maybe I'll run on the treadmill later. After I finish this (insert one of the many, never ending work projects here)."
- "Don't kid yourself. You say that now. Once you get started on this project you will be sucked into that old familiar mud pit of brainstorm mania. Your body will sink into it's amorphous blob-ish state and hope of physically moving in any direction other than the kitchen for snacks will be lost."
You get the point. I fear that without Team Training, I will be even more apt to lose the argument each week.
I think the secret to success is to stop having the conversation with myself and start having it with my teammates. One quick text to inquire about their plans for the morning workout and I'm half way to heading out the door. In fact, I might not even get that far. Just thinking about how the conversation would go could be enough to get off my butt and move. It's worth a try anyway, right?
Team Training has taught me that we are all part of one big FFY team and we can help each other along the way on our path to fitness greatness.
What are your plans to keep your workouts going after Team Training ends? I'd love to share strategies.
Good luck everyone!
